What to Wear for Your Family Photography Session.

So, you’ve booked your Family Photography Session but not sure what to wear? We know how important it is when planning and deciding on your outfits. We’ll help you get on your way to creating the perfect look. Here’s a few tips to make sure you end up with photographs you just love!

COORDINATING COLOURS - Not matching, pick a couple of colours and choose clothes that will fit in this colour scheme.

LIMIT PATTERNS - A few subtle patterns are fine but not everyone in the photo should wear patterns as it may distract the final images. Absolutely NO characters or logos, please!

HOME DECOR - Look at your home decor. Do you like bright colours? Neutrals? Since you will be displaying these photos in your house you want to make sure that the colours go with your home.

PLAN AHEAD - Once you book your session, start thinking of the clothes right away. You may think certain clothes will fit your kids or that one dress is clean. If you wait until the day of or the day before, you may run into an issue of clothes not fitting, being dirty etc.

BE COMFORTABLE - Make sure what you choose to wear is most of all comfortable! It is not recommended girls/babies wear overall dresses as the straps tend to ride up.

LAY IT OUT - Lay out each family member’s outfit together while planning. This way you’ll have a good idea about how the pieces will look next to each other, and you’ll see what works!

THINK SIMPLISTIC - These photos will be displayed in your home and treasured for years to come. By choosing simple, classic clothing you will help give your images a timeless feel.

You’ll also need to consider where your session will take place, will it be in our Beautiful Tea Tree Gully Studio or at our Stunning Outdoor Location in Houghton? Generally lighter colours work in our mostly- white space but again, you need to be comfortable and yourselves!
